M&S Revives Four Retro 1980s Chocolate Bars

M&S is reviving four classic 1980s chocolate bars, giving fans the chance to rediscover retro favourites. The St Michael chocolate bars are returning as full-sized bars and mini bars within a variety pack.

Four Flavours Available

The four flavours are Jet (milk chocolate with soft nougat, peanut and caramel), Now (milk chocolate with biscuit and caramel), Sparks (milk chocolate with soft nougat and caramel), and Coconut Grove (milk chocolate with soft coconut centre).

Nostalgic Packaging

An M&S spokesman said: "M&S Food is bringing back four retro chocolate bars from the St Michael archives. Each bar, wrapped in nostalgic St Michael packaging, offers its own distinctive flavour and texture."

"Originally part of our 1980s confectionery range, Jet, Sparks, Now! and Coconut Grove will return to Foodhalls next week, giving customers the chance to rediscover much-loved favourites from the era."

One excited customer said: "I can't wait to relive my youth all over again. These bars will be enjoyed by a whole new generation of fans."

Previous Revival

The move follows M&S's reintroduction of the St Michael Take 4 bar four months earlier - wafers layered with cocoa paste and enrobed in milk chocolate. The bar was even presented in its original packaging.

The St Michael brand made its debut in 1927 and went on to become an exclusive supplier to M&S. By 1950 and throughout the following five decades, virtually all products sold by Marks & Spencer carried the St Michael brand. Marks & Spencer officially discontinued the St Michael brand name on its products back in 2000, retiring the label as part of a sweeping rebrand and restructuring drive.

New Store Opening

Meanwhile, M&S has this week opened its largest ever standalone food store in Godalming, Surrey. The new outlet forms part of the retailer's broader push to modernise its estate and strengthen its appeal to families carrying out their weekly food shopping.
