Manchester Village Pride 2026 is set to take over the city centre from Friday, August 28, to Monday, August 31, with a new community-led format. The event will feature the traditional parade, live music across three stages, bar takeovers, family activities, and the candlelight vigil.
This year's festival is funded by Gay Village venues following the voluntary liquidation of the company behind Manchester Pride. A new community interest company now runs the event, with a focus on community and equality.
Key Timings for the Weekend
Around 30,000 people are expected to attend. The Wristband Exchange, next to Vimto Park on Granby Row, opens at 10am Friday and Saturday, and 12pm Sunday, closing at 11pm each day. Entrance gates are on Sackville Street, Bloom Street, Chorlton Street, and Richmond Street. Late-night access runs from 11pm to 4am via Portland Street/Sackville Street and Bloom Street/Princess Street gates.
Stage Times and Performers
On Friday, gates open 6pm to 11pm, with performances from Danny Beard, B*Witched, and the Freemasons. Saturday gates open 12pm to 11pm, featuring DJ Sammy, Cleopatra, and Gareth Gates. Sunday gates open 12pm to 11pm, with Cascada, Kate Nash, and Big Brovaz & Booty Luv. Monday's Family Fun Day is free, with gates opening at 10am.
Parade Route and Theme
The parade takes place Saturday, August 29, from 12pm, with the theme 'No Place Like Home'. It starts on Liverpool Road, passes through Deansgate, Peter Street, Oxford Road, Portland Street, Princess Street, and Whitworth Street, ending at Sackville Gardens around 3pm. Accessible viewing platforms are on Watson Street and Waterloo Street.
Candlelight Vigil Details
The vigil, in partnership with George House Trust, is on Monday, August 31, from 8.30pm, with doors opening at 6.30pm. It honours those lost to HIV and stands against stigma. The event will be live streamed on YouTube.
