Fentimans is hosting a Mamma Mia themed brunch on the Roof Thirty Nine terrace atop Fenwick in Newcastle city centre, featuring food, drinks, music, and a film screening. The event takes place on Bank Holiday Sunday, August 30, from 12-2pm, with tickets priced at £30 per person.
A One-Day Mediterranean Escape in the City
The brunch aims to transport guests to a Greek island atmosphere, complete with a live DJ playing ABBA tracks. Attendees can sing along to their favourite Mamma Mia songs before a screening at Screen on the Green in Old Eldon Square. Roof Thirty Nine is described as one of the best suntraps in town, ideal for a hot day.
The event celebrates the enduring popularity of the Mamma Mia film, which premiered nearly 20 years ago, and its 2018 sequel, Here We Go Again. The original movie starred Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, and Julie Walters, and was a box office hit with its ABBA soundtrack.

Guests must pre-order their meals when booking, choosing from dishes by Fenwick's Fuego restaurant. Large plate options include the Fuego Burger with manchego, basque sauce, rocket, and patatas bravas; Coal-Roasted Bream with Sicilian salad and Salmoriglio dressing; Aubergine Siniya with grilled aubergine, tahini sauce, lemon yogurt, pine nuts, and crispy onions; and Chicken Souvlaki and Halloumi Skewers with fattoush salad, harissa, and garlic labneh.
Small plates include Patatas Bravas with roasted garlic aioli and Fuego seasoning, Heirloom Tomato, and Samphire and Ibores Salads. A cocktail is included on arrival, with signature drinks such as the Summer Sunset (tequila, limoncello, Fentimans Victorian Lemonade), the Dirty G&T (Hepple Gin, Noilly Prat, Fentimans Indian Tonic Water), and the Frozen Pomegranate Mule (Hepple vodka, pomegranate syrup, lime juice, Fentimans Ginger Beer).
