Taste Film is bringing its immersive cinematic dining experience to Edinburgh this December for a festive special. Scots can head to the Patina in Edinburgh this Christmas for Taste Film's Love Actually dining experience from December 12 until December 23.
A Festive Feast Timed to the Film
The pop-up event involves a film screening paired with a themed multi-course tasting menu which is timed precisely to match specific scenes in the movie. The iconic British Christmas classic will be brought to life on the big screen alongside a seven-course festive feast, with each dish inspired by memorable moments from the film and served in time with the action.
Guests can expect the courses to feature everything from Christmas canapés to an English tea cocktail with a 'choccie biccie'. Other courses include a playful nod to the film's lobsters in the school nativity play with indulgent lobster mac and cheese, followed by a classic turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
Menu Highlights and Vegan Option
To round up the evening, guests will be served a spicy strawberry margarita, mulled wine poached pears, and banoffee pie. An alternative vegan menu is also available. Tickets are available to buy now for the Taste Film Love Actually experience in Edinburgh and are priced at £99.95 per person.
The experience makes for a fun Christmas night out in the capital, whether it be for a festive date night with friends or a partner or simply a different way to celebrate the holiday season.
Pop-Up Success and Founder's Vision
Taste Film officially debuted in Edinburgh with a sold-out run of the Christmas film The Holiday at the Patina last December. Also showing in Edinburgh this year is the Taste Film Lord of the Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring which will screen this month. However, tickets are now sold out. Fans who want to experience a Love Actually cinematic dining experience this winter are being urged to be fast as tickets are likely to go fast.
Taste Film founder Amy Fernando brought the idea to life in 2016. The former Film Studies teacher was inspired by the iconic prison cooking scene in Goodfellas which left her questioning: "What if food could bring us closer to the characters and stories we love on screen?"
Taste Film's first event took place in a family-run Italian restaurant in North West London and has grown to other locations over the years. Rather than a single permanent theatre, Taste Film operates as a pop-up experience across different partner venues in cities like London, Manchester, and Edinburgh.
