Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is returning to the UK after a four-year absence, this time at Bolesworth Castle in Tattenhall, Chester. The multisensory nighttime trail, which last ran at Arley Hall and Gardens in Cheshire in 2022, will open on December 10.
The 1.95km trail will introduce never-before-seen elements to the UK, including the magical Golden Egg and a 'chilling' Death Eater, alongside photo opportunities inspired by the wizarding world, such as Quidditch and Hagrid. Visitors will follow a winding woodland path where towering trees and original soundscapes create an atmosphere of mystery and adventure.
Magical Creatures and Themed Village
Guests will encounter creatures from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises, from the Hippogriff to the Niffler, brought to life through light, projection and interactive elements. The journey ends in a themed village offering themed food and drinks, as well as official Harry Potter merchandise and exclusive souvenirs.
Joana Da Silva Pina, strategic team lead at Fever, the tech platform presenting the event, said: "There’s nowhere quite like the UK to experience the magic of Harry Potter, and we’re thrilled to bring A Forbidden Forest Experience back after two incredible runs in Manchester. This time, Bolesworth Castle will provide the perfect setting for fans to celebrate the wizarding world after dark, with new surprises joining some of the moments visitors already know and love. We can’t wait for both first-time guests and returning fans to experience what’s waiting in the forest."
Ticket Details and Visitor Numbers
The trail, which takes between 60 and 90 minutes, will join the three million visitors across four continents and 16 cities who have already enjoyed the outdoor journey. Designed as 'a truly all-ages adventure', it invites families, friends and fans to explore at their own pace.
Tickets go on general sale on Tuesday, November 3, with an exclusive pre-sale opening at 11am on Friday, October 30. Fans can join the waitlist on Fever or the Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience website for pre-sale access.
Separately, a Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas trail has launched at Arley Hall, following acclaimed runs in America, featuring characters such as Jack, Sally and ghost dog Zero.
