Green Fences and Road Closures in Liverpool for Festival

Large green fences have appeared around Liverpool's Pier Head on George Parade Road and Canada Boulevard as preparations begin for the On The Waterfront music festival next week. Road closures are also in place.

Access and Road Closures

At the time of writing, pedestrians can still access the Pier Head from the Water Street, Mann Island, and Royal Albert dock entrances. These entrances are expected to close closer to the festival, which runs from Thursday, June 18 to Sunday, June 21. The road closures are scheduled to remain in effect from now until the end of the festival. The stage is under construction, and access to the George Parade area is blocked due to building works.

Festival Line-Up

The four-day music event has featured huge headliners since its inception, including Sting, Jamie Webster, and Deacon Blue. Snow Patrol was the first headline act confirmed for this year's festival. The Northern Irish/Scottish rock band, formed in 1994, is known for hits such as 'Chasing Cars,' 'Run,' and 'Just Say Yes.' Snow Patrol will perform on Sunday, June 21.

Paul Weller will open the event on Thursday, June 18, promising a powerful opening night of timeless classics and electric atmosphere. As one of the UK's most enduring and influential songwriters, Paul Weller's catalogue includes hits from The Jam and The Style Council to his acclaimed solo career.

Cream Classical will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a triumphant return to On The Waterfront on Saturday, June 20. Over the last decade, Cream Classical has united generations of clubbers, from those who lived the legendary Cream nights of the '90s to today's dance music fans, delivering euphoric moments of some of the superclub's biggest tracks like never before.

With its iconic location, world-class line-up, and electric atmosphere, On the Waterfront 2026 is set to be one of the most anticipated weekends of the year.
