Domino Run Route and Timings for NOVUM Festival

The giant Domino Run, a highlight of Newcastle's NOVUM Festival, will take place on Sunday, July 9, starting at 4:30pm. The first domino will fall from a window at Bewick Court near the City Library, triggering a city-wide sequence expected to last about 30 minutes and conclude at the Helix Building at Science Central.

Route and Viewing

The route passes several notable locations, including the Tyneside Cinema, Theatre Royal, Newbridge Works, Assembly Rooms, Blackfriars, and The People's Kitchen. From 2:30pm, spectators can walk the full 2.5km route to see thousands of dominoes lined up. Most of the route is outdoors, but some indoor spots like the cinema and theatre are not open to the public. Dedicated accessible viewing points will be available at City Library, Grey's Monument, and the finish at the Helix Building.

Event Details

The Domino Run is presented by Station House Opera, an internationally acclaimed company, and has previously been a hit in cities like Copenhagen, Melbourne, Rennes, and Helsinki. The Assembly Rooms will host a Geordie-themed afternoon tea to mark the occasion, with some tickets still available.
