Cream Classical is set to return to Liverpool Cathedral this year. After an unforgettable summer celebration marking 10 years at Liverpool's Pier Head, Cream Classical will be back this October at one of the city's most breathtaking landmarks, Liverpool Cathedral.
Cream Classical has brought together audiences from across the UK, from clubbers who once visited Cream's legendary dancefloor to a new generation discovering the brand for the very first time.
Event Details
Curated by K-Klass, the live music events feature a spectacular production that brings together more than three decades of dance music. The events will take place on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral.
Speaking ahead of their performance at Liverpool's On The Waterfront on June 20, K Klass's Paul Roberts spoke about the first time they performed at the Anglican Cathedral.
Memories of the First Show
He said: "There's been some incredible experiences at Sefton Park, Steel Yard, the first time at On The Waterfront, but the very first time we did the show in the Anglican Cathedral, because we had no idea whether it would work or not.
"We were in there on the Thursday night before the show and the sound company got the stripped down backing track, where it's just bits of drums and stuff like that, which was the bit that we were worried about, and they played it at full volume. I think it was about like 11 o' clock at night in the Cathedral. They played it full volume, like show volume, and it sounded perfect."
"I remember us all just looking around at each other with beaming smiles on our faces going, 'This is good, this is going to be immense'.
"That first show to me, seeing the reaction of people, because we recreate all the drums and the elements of the track as faithfully as we can to the original records. People were hearing these records as they knew them, but with the sound of the three dimensional orchestra filling every molecule of air in the Cathedral.
"It was emotional for people. There were people in the audience actually in tears on that first gig. That, combined with the lighting show that Cream put on in the Cathedral, I remember going home and for like about a week social media was just full, everywhere you looked, was pictures from Cream Classical at the Cathedral.
"You put into perspective there was under 2,000 people there. But the story of it just went on and on, on and on and on and on.
"I mean it was a special one. That for me is the one that stands out because it was everything that we wanted it to be, but then a whole lot more as well."
