Andrea Bocelli will make his return to Wales after two decades to deliver his first headline performance in the country. The 67-year-old Italian tenor will take to the stage at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in 2027 as part of the inaugural Land of Song Festival, honouring the musical legacy of Wales.

The new festival draws inspiration from Wales's standing as the land of song, aiming to unite world-class performers, choirs and audiences in celebration of music and community.
Bocelli said: "Throughout my career I have been fortunate to perform in many extraordinary places around the world, and I am thrilled to be making my first headline appearance in Wales. The country's rich choral heritage and deep connection with music make this city a fitting setting for this special concert. I am looking forward to an unforgettable evening in Cardiff."
Bocelli's illustrious career
Bocelli is renowned for hits including Time To Say Goodbye and The Prayer, and has performed before the Royal Family, popes and numerous US presidents. He ranks among the most accomplished classical performers of all time and has secured multiple prestigious awards, six Grammy nominations and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame throughout his nearly four-decade career. He has also appeared at significant events across the globe, including the Olympic Games and the World Cup.
Event details and lineup
He last graced the stage in Wales in 2005, and will make his comeback for the eagerly awaited festival on May 8 and 9, 2027. The event will also feature the Cor World Choir experience – a mass choral gathering comprising more than 20,000 participants. Launched in Cardiff in 1992, it is one of the largest celebrations of collective singing held in Wales.
The event also inspired the creation of a youth version – Young Voices – and Ben Lewis, chief executive of the organisation, praised the festival for "bringing thousands of singers together in a powerful celebration of community, culture and the shared joy of music".

The chance to experience Andrea Bocelli's captivating voice, followed the next day by one of the largest celebrations of collective singing ever staged in Wales, makes for a spectacular launch to the biennial Land of Song Festival and signals the start of what promises to be a really special event and a major celebration of music in Wales."
