Selena Gomez Launches £35 'Sweatproof' Foundation Worn on Her Wedding Day
Selena Gomez Launches £35 Wedding Day Foundation

Actress and singer Selena Gomez has introduced a new foundation from her Rare Beauty line, priced at £35, which she personally wore on her wedding day. The True To Myself Foundation, launched on 2nd April, is marketed as a self-setting and sweatproof product designed for long-lasting wear.

Product Details and Features

The foundation acts as a three-in-one solution, providing priming, coverage, and setting in a single application. It offers medium to full coverage with a natural matte finish, formulated with ingredients like sodium hyaluronate, ginger root, and algae extract to hydrate the skin and boost the skin barrier for up to eight hours.

Selena Gomez promoted the product on Instagram, stating, "From my wedding to the Sunset Blvd music video, to red carpets, and even quiet days at home…I’ve been wearing my new @RareBeauty foundation through it all. It self-primes, self-sets, and looks better as the day goes on."

Customer Reviews and Feedback

Available exclusively in the UK through SpaceNK, the foundation has quickly garnered positive reviews. One customer with dry skin noted, "Surprised by how much I like this foundation. I have dry skin but with decent skin prep this looked so beautiful and lasted really well. Looked natural and didn't emphasise any skin texture. Really nice colour range too, very pleased that they do olive shades."

Another user praised its lightweight feel and durability, saying, "I’ve been using the Rare Beauty True To Myself Foundation for a bit now and I’m really happy with it. It feels lightweight on the skin but still gives good coverage, evening everything out nicely. The finish looks natural, not too matte or shiny. It blends easily and wears well throughout the day without looking patchy."

However, not all feedback has been glowing. One critic pointed out issues with the formula, commenting, "This foundation is not worth the price, looks good on initial application, then half an hour later it looks patchy and settles into fine lines and looks dry. There's plenty of other foundations out there that are much better quality."

Alternative Options for Summer

For those preferring lighter coverage, especially with summer approaching, skin tints are recommended as an alternative. Popular choices include Ilia's Super Serum Skin Tint at £42, Sculpted By Aimee's Hydra Tint for £23, and the budget-friendly Revolution Skin Blur Soft Focus Skin Tint priced at £5.

Rare Beauty, launched in 2019, has established itself as a cult-favourite makeup brand, and this latest release aims to solidify its reputation with a product tested and endorsed by Selena Gomez herself.
