Model Rebecca Harding has opened up about the surprising reason she has yet to purchase her wedding dress, even with her marriage to radio personality Andy Lee scheduled for next year.
The Bridal Novelty That Wore Off
Speaking to the Daily Mail at the Lana Wilkinson Summer '26 launch on Wednesday evening, the 35-year-old admitted that while she is excited to tie the knot, the planning process is lagging. The couple have not sent out invitations or finalised key details for their 2026 wedding.
Harding revealed that her previous work as a model during university has impacted her enthusiasm for the traditional bridal dress shopping experience. "In university I worked as a model and I did a few bridal shows and bridal editorials. So I've worn quite a few wedding dresses," she explained. "I think maybe the novelty wore off... but I need to go do that, probably."
Renovating a Historic Mansion with Top Designers
While wedding plans are on the slow track, the couple are making significant progress on their other major project: the renovation of their 150-year-old Hawthorn mansion. They purchased the property for approximately $8 million (around £6.4 million) in 2021.
Rebecca confirmed they have enlisted the expertise of the acclaimed Flack Studio, the same designers behind singer Troye Sivan's recently renovated Carlton mansion. "David Flack is so talented. He's amazing. We're in very good hands," she said.
The pair have started buying furniture, describing their style as "quite eclectic" with a blend of vintage and modern pieces. When asked about her favourite room, Harding laughed and said, "My wardrobe. I'm literally designing my dream wardrobe." She added that fiancé Andy's priority is a substantial golf simulator room.
Looking Ahead to Wedding Bells and Beach Holidays
Despite the lack of dress and invites, Harding emphasised that the upcoming wedding is "very exciting," and they look forward to celebrating with friends and family. The couple, who first met in October 2014, recently locked in their date for later next year.
Before then, they plan a festive escape. "We are just going to be down in our beach house. Just chilling down there with family. Down on the Mornington Peninsula," Rebecca shared, hoping work schedules allow them to travel a few days before Christmas.
