Princess Kate and Prince William Release New Portrait Ahead of Nigerian State Banquet

A stunning new portrait of the Prince and Princess of Wales has been released following Wednesday's Nigerian State banquet at Windsor Castle. The couple commissioned up-and-coming British-Nigerian photographer Christianah Ebenezer to capture the image before the event.

The portrait shows Catherine, 44, in a flowing green evening gown by Andrew Gn, wearing the Lover's Knot Tiara and diamond earrings that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II. She also sports her Royal Family Order of King Charles III and the GCVO Sash and Star. Behind the couple is a backdrop of free-flowing flowers and trailing foliage, reflecting the princess's emphasis on the healing power of nature since her cancer diagnosis.

William, 43, is dressed in white tie and Windsor tail coat, with his Most Noble Order of the Garter Sash and the 'Lesser George'. He wears his Miniature Medals, including the Order of the Bath, the Queen Elizabeth Gold, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee medals, and his father's Coronation medal. His Chest Orders are the Most Noble Order of the Garter and the Most Noble Order of the Thistle, with the Neck Order of the Great Master of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath.

Kensington Palace described the portrait as 'fabulous' and noted it was the couple's first collaboration with Christianah, who previously took the Duchess of Edinburgh's 60th birthday portraits. Christianah, born in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in London, said: 'It was a true honour to collaborate on this piece. Blending our shared creativity with elements of classic portraiture and nature, the team worked seamlessly to capture this moment.'

The King and Queen also bid farewell to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu after a successful two-day state visit, which included a glittering banquet attended by senior royals including Princess Anne and the Duke of Edinburgh.
