Sali Hughes on Beauty: Elegant Body Moisturisers for Dry Skin

Buying lard-like tubs of boring moisturiser is no longer the only option for those with dry, cracked, or sensitive skin. Sali Hughes reports that ungreasy, effective derma body lotions are now available, offering a touch of elegance to a previously joyless routine.

French brand Mixa has returned to the UK after a previous withdrawal, now available in supermarkets, chemists, and online. The products are colour-coded by skin type: Panthenol Comfort (purple) for itchy skin, Niacinamide Bright (yellow) for dull skin, CICA Repair+ (red) for extra dry skin, and Ceramide Protect (blue) for sensitive skin. Hughes has used the Urea CICA Repair+ Renewing Cream (£10 for 400ml), praising its fine, ungreasy texture and effective moisturisation.

Cetaphil has also expanded into facial serums with Advanced Defence and Repair & Renew serums (£26.50 for 30ml each). These contain antioxidants to neutralise free radicals and soothing ingredients, suitable for very sensitive skin that reacts to potent actives.
