Anyone dealing with acne or dark circles is unlikely to leave the house without one of the best concealers in their make-up bag. As much as we love to champion the natural look, there are days when an extra layer of confidence is welcome – and a concealer does just the trick.
According to professional make-up artist Florence White, concealer is “a clever scientific formula which targets specific areas of the face, such as under eyes, red veins and pimples, and adds light to any dark areas like the inner corner of the eyes and maniacal folds (laughter lines).”
We spent weeks putting some of the industry’s most talked about concealers through their paces. Over six weeks, we tested 15 concealers across two complexions: one dry skin type and one oily. We used them in both sweltering heat and dry cold, wearing them over extended periods to gauge staying power. Only products earning at least four out of five stars made the cut.
