Lady Caroline Crichton-Stuart Engaged to Biba Thomas

Lady Caroline Crichton-Stuart, the daughter of the late racing driver and 7th Marquess of Bute, Johnny Dumfries, has announced her engagement to music video producer Biba Thomas. This joyous news comes just eight months after her previous engagement to artist and model Hetty Douglas came to an end.

A Swift New Chapter

Lady Caroline, 41, and her new fiancée, 29-year-old Biba Thomas, shared their happy news with friends and family over the weekend, posting celebratory photographs on Instagram. The couple went public with their relationship earlier this year, and sources indicate that Thomas was quickly welcomed into Lady Caroline's aristocratic family circle.

This engagement follows Lady Caroline's previous relationship with Hetty Douglas, which captivated society circles in 2022. Douglas had proposed on the Spanish party island of Ibiza during a holiday with friends, including model Cara Delevingne. The sunset beach proposal was a family affair, with Lady Caroline's eight-year-old son, Ben, from a previous relationship, receiving his own ring to mark the occasion.

However, by March of this year, the fairytale romance had concluded. A friend told the Mail at the time, "It just wasn't meant to be," adding that the couple "ultimately realised they weren't right for each other long-term."

A Distinguished Family Legacy

Lady Caroline hails from one of Scotland's most distinguished aristocratic families. Her father, John Crichton-Stuart, the 7th Marquess of Bute, was a celebrated racing driver. He famously partnered with Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna in 1986 and secured a victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988.

The Marquess, who was once ranked 616th in the Rich List, died from cancer in March 2021 at the age of 62. His title passed to Lady Caroline's brother, 35-year-old Jack Dumfries, who is now the 8th Marquess of Bute. The family's ancestral seat is the spectacular Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute.

In 2007, the late Marquess played a key role in preserving national heritage by selling another family property, Dumfries House in Ayrshire, to a consortium headed by the then Prince Charles for £45 million.

Celebrations and Creative Pursuits

Lady Caroline's half-sister, Lady Lola, 26, made headlines last year for her extravagant, festival-themed 25th birthday party held at Mount Stuart House. The event, dubbed 'How Lola Can You Go?', saw society guests including Sienna Miller and Princess Olympia of Greece celebrating in a style described as "Ibiza colliding with Saltburn."

Meanwhile, Lady Caroline's new fiancée, Biba Thomas, has built a successful career behind the camera. She has directed and produced music videos for global stars such as Calvin Harris and Sam Fender, establishing herself as a respected creative figure in the entertainment industry.

With the engagement announced, friends and family have taken to social media to congratulate the couple, signalling a bright new beginning for Lady Caroline and her betrothed.
