Jaime Winstone made an emotional appearance on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two after she and professional partner Carlos Gu survived the series' first dance-off. During the interview, Carlos was seen trying to support and uplift his partner as she spoke openly about the experience.
Dance-off survival after Movie Week
The actress and her partner had to fight for their place in the competition during Sunday's (October 4) results show, which followed the latest live show on Saturday night (October 3), where Movie Week was celebrated earlier than ever. The first special of the year saw the couples perform their second routines of the 2026 series, with week one and two scores combined with the public vote ahead of the first dance-off and elimination.
To decide who stayed, the latest judges' scores were added to those from week one, when there was no public vote, and then combined with the results of Saturday night's public vote to determine the two lowest-scoring couples facing the dance-off. Jaime and Carlos survived, while celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton and his professional partner Amy Dowden were sent home following their Movie Week dance-off.
'It was terrifying'
Speaking on Tuesday's (October 6) It Takes Two about the dance-off for the first time, Jaime told host Ellie Taylor: "It was terrifying. All the feelings of 'Oh, nobody likes me, and we got so much wrong'. But, I loved doing the dance, I love the Cha Cha."
As Carlos tried to support her, Ellie noted: "Jaime, you look so emotional about this..." Jaime, who described the dance-off as "horrific", responded: "To be honest, it has been really emotional these last 24 hours. Just because you're- it's such a fast pace. I'm used to not being that vulnerable on camera."
Support from Carlos Gu
She added: "There were certain little things that Chris (Appleton) said yesterday. You do go back to that child in school, going, 'Oh, I don't fit in'. Actually, some of your greatest things about you are what make you stand out, and a lot of insecurities happened yesterday, and it's not how you fall, it's how you get yourself back up."
Following their appearance on the programme, Carlos took to Instagram with a photo of himself and Jaime taking a break in the training room. Alongside the post on his Instagram Story, which showed the duo creating a heart with their arms, he said: "What a great day today has been. @jaimewinstone you are a true fighter. Proud of you b [heart emoji]."
