Britain's most tattooed man, who has legally changed his name to King of Ink Land King Body Art The Extreme Ink-ite, has criticised women he describes as 'shallow' for rejecting him due to his appearance. The 39-year-old, who goes by Body Art for short, claims many women only want a partner with a chiselled 'Love Island-type' physique.
Body Art, from Birmingham, said he has been unlucky in love since his last serious relationship ended two years ago, despite a 'very active' social life. He compared himself to Marmite, explaining that women are either put off by his extensive tattoos or become 'really curious' about him.
With more than 90 per cent of his body covered in over 300 tattoos, Body Art has undergone extreme body modifications, including removing his nipples to make room for ink, carving 'teeth marks' into his ears, and splitting his tongue. He also had the words 'The Jeremy Kyle Show' tattooed on the back of his head.
As he approaches his 40th birthday later this year, Body Art said he is looking to settle down and have children. However, he acknowledged that many women are put off by his appearance. He told the Daily Star: 'A lot of women are really shallow and only go for guys with Love Island-type bodies. Then I get other women who are just interested in me because of my tattoos.'
Body Art, born Matthew Whelan, got his first tattoo at age 16. In 2017, he revealed that his body had rejected a knuckle duster implant in his arm, which had to be surgically removed.
