Bella Hadid's Fashion Week Appearance Amid Health Challenges
Supermodel Bella Hadid continued her fashion showcase as she departed the luxurious Hotel de Crillon in Paris on Wednesday. The 29-year-old model is currently in the French capital for the ongoing Fashion Week events, having already graced the Saint Laurent runway earlier in the week.
Effortless Parisian Style
Bella demonstrated her signature effortless style wearing a nude pencil skirt paired with a ribbed white top during her hotel departure. She completed the sophisticated ensemble with tan knee-high boots and a matching suede handbag. Her hair was styled in soft waves, following her recent debut of an auburn pageboy bob haircut that bears striking resemblance to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour's iconic style.
Runway Success and Personal Struggles
On Tuesday, Bella commanded attention on the Saint Laurent runway wearing a plunging red lace bodysuit combined with a figure-hugging sheer black skirt. While she has been a regular presence at Paris and Milan fashion weeks throughout her career, the model has recently taken significant time away from the industry due to her ongoing battle with Lyme disease.
Bella has been living with the chronic neurological condition for fourteen years and has been undergoing intensive treatment. In a recent interview with Vogue Italia, she revealed the difficult decision to decline "every job for almost a year" during her treatment period, an experience that brought her to tears.
Learning to Prioritize Health
The model explained how she has learned to establish healthier boundaries in her professional life. "The way that I worked for many years was not sustainable. I think that, you know, even during COVID I continued to work," Bella told the publication. She emphasized the importance of balance, noting that spending time in Texas with her horses and dog has made her work more fulfilling when she does return to modeling.
Hadid now recognizes her ability to decline opportunities that don't align with her values or health needs. "Now I know that if I'm able to say 'No,' even going through my Lyme disease treatment last year and having to say no to every job for almost a year, which I cried about," she recalled. "I was emotional because you feel disposable."
Family Support During Difficult Times
On September 18, Bella's mother Yolanda Hadid shared an emotional Instagram tribute to her daughter, praising her as a "bada** warrior" during hospital visits. The former Real Housewives star wrote about her admiration for Bella's bravery and determination to continue fighting for her health despite numerous setbacks and challenging treatment protocols.
Yolanda's heartfelt message continued: "There simply aren't words big enough for the darkness, the pain, and the unknown hell you've lived through since your diagnosis. You didn't really live, you learned how to exist inside the jail of your own paralyzed brain. I am so proud of the fighter that you are. You are not alone, I promise to have your back every step of the way, no matter how long this takes."
Bella Hadid's Paris Fashion Week appearances demonstrate her continued presence in the fashion world while her candid revelations about health struggles highlight the personal challenges many public figures face behind the scenes.
