'So I saw a tip about applying fake tan with a latex glove instead of the usual tanning mitt... Streak-free, even tan. Will never use a mitt again!' she wrote, prompting a wave of agreement from others who have used gloves for years.
A viral TikTok video has further cemented the method's popularity, amassing 18.7 million views. In the clip, the creator applies tan to one leg with a mitt and the other with a latex glove: the glove side appears streak-free, while the mitt side looks patchy. Viewers praised the glove technique, with one stating, 'Definitely looks more flawless with the gloves on!'
Latex gloves are widely available and inexpensive. Tesco sells a pack of 40 for £5.95, equating to 15p per glove, and they are also stocked at Home Bargains, ASDA and B&M. For those yet to try the hack, it offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional tanning mitts.
