Richard Gere and Wife Alejandra Premiere Homelessness Documentary in Madrid

Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra attended the premiere of their short documentary, What Nobody Wants to See (Lo Que Nadie Quiere Ver), in Madrid on Monday night. The couple coordinated in matching navy and black suits, sharing affectionate moments on the red carpet, including Alejandra wrapping a scarf around her husband's neck.

The documentary addresses homelessness in Spain, featuring interviews with homeless individuals in Madrid. Gere and Alejandra, who are both passionate about activism, aim to end homelessness in her home country through their involvement with the NGO Hogar Sí. Alejandra stated, 'Our goal is that, within five years, no one sleeps on the street.'

Gere previously experienced homelessness firsthand while filming Time Out of Mind in 2014, where he posed as a homeless man in New York. He recalled, 'As long as I was in character, I could see people from two blocks away, making a judgment based on how I was dressed.'

The couple, who married in 2018 and have two sons, relocated to Spain in 2024 to be closer to Alejandra's family. Gere remarked, 'We are happier than ever,' while Alejandra described them as 'soulmates.'
