James Jordan has ditched his wedding ring in promotional material for his new project, 'Manopause', following the announcement of his split from wife Ola after 22 years of marriage. The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 48, confirmed the 'incredibly painful' separation over the weekend.
Mental Health Struggles
In a statement, James admitted to struggling with his mental health, saying he had been dealing with 'very difficult personal challenges' and alluded to 'dark times'. He said his 'mental health hasn't been in a good place for quite some time'.
New Project with Strictly Pals
The 'Manopause' show, which James will present with fellow Strictly professional Brendan Cole, aims to tackle men's health issues that 'no-one is talking about'. A video shared last month shows James without his wedding ring while filming podcast interviews with guests including former Strictly contestant Wynne Evans and former Apprentice winner Lee McQueen.
Statement from the Couple
The couple's joint statement said: "After 26 years together, this is something we never imagined we would be sharing. Following recent reports in the press about our relationship and after receiving messages asking if everything is okay, we feel it's important to speak directly rather than let speculation or hearsay tell our story."
They added that they are 'taking some time apart' and that James moved out of the family home some time ago. Their 'absolute priority' is their daughter, Ella, six.
