Netflix is preparing to unveil a major new documentary special, Being Eddie, offering an unprecedented look into the life and career of comedy legend Eddie Murphy.
When and Where to Watch Being Eddie
The one-off documentary special is scheduled for release on Netflix on Wednesday, November 12. Unlike some recent multi-part series, such as the Victoria Beckham documentary, this will be a single, feature-length presentation focusing exclusively on the iconic actor.
A Star-Studded Cast of Friends and Family
Given Murphy's decades in the spotlight, the documentary features an impressive roster of famous faces. Confirmed participants include comedians Kevin Hart, Pete Davidson, Chris Rock, and Tracy Morgan, alongside actors Tracee Ellis Ross, Arsenio Hall, and Jamie Foxx.
In a rare personal touch, the film will also include his wife, Paige Butcher, and several of his ten children, whom he shares with five different partners.
What to Expect from the Documentary
Being Eddie promises to celebrate the star's nearly 50-year career, tracing his extraordinary journey from a teenage stand-up comedian sharing stages with Jerry Seinfeld to becoming a global film icon.
For the first time, Murphy is opening his private home to cameras, giving fans a glimpse into the personal life of a man known for being notoriously private.
Produced by two-time Oscar winner Angus Wall, the documentary's synopsis highlights Murphy's unique path. It notes that no other actor has convincingly played roles as diverse as a cop, a doctor, and a donkey, all while dominating Hollywood and avoiding the pitfalls of fame for over four decades.
The film is set to premiere globally on Wednesday, November 12, exclusively on Netflix.
