The Discovery Café at Seacombe Ferry Terminal has reopened under new management, operated by local catering specialist Crosby Fresh. The waterfront café is open seven days a week, offering a selection of breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and refreshments.
New management and menu
Crosby Fresh, which already provides catering on the Snowdrop ferry, will also serve on the new Royal Daffodil when it launches later this year. The team is focusing on quality ingredients, homemade food, and locally sourced produce, aiming to create a warm and welcoming space for visitors.
Part of wider investment
The café is expected to be popular with ferry passengers, commuters, visitors to Eureka! Science + Discovery, residents, and those exploring the River Mersey waterfront. Wirral councillor Steve Foulkes, chair of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Transport Committee, said: "We're delighted to welcome visitors back to the Discovery Café and to see this much-loved space at Seacombe Ferry Terminal brought back to life." He added that the reopening reflects the ambition to strengthen the Mersey Ferries offer as a UK visitor attraction.
Royal Daffodil details
The new Royal Daffodil ferry, painted in Mersey Ferries' historic red, white, and black colours, features a main-deck lounge, modern bars, and spacious open-plan decks with views across the River Mersey. Paul McIntosh of Crosby Fresh said: "We’re delighted to be bringing a fresh new offer to Discovery Café at Seacombe Ferry Terminal. Our focus is on serving quality, home-made food in a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels at home."
