Grace Season 6 Filming Locations: Brighton High Street Doubles as Munich

ITV's hit crime drama Grace returns for its sixth season this weekend, with filming locations across Brighton and Hove once again serving as the backdrop for the series. The show, starring John Simm as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, has used the coastal city and surrounding East Sussex countryside since its premiere in 2021.

Key locations for season six include areas near the Royal Pavilion, The Lanes, Brighton Palace Pier, Devil's Dyke, Ovingdean, and Peacehaven. Notably, Brighton High Street was transformed to mimic the German city of Munich, with visual effects enhancing the illusion.

Actor Richie Campbell, who plays DI Glenn Branson, revealed he had hoped to film on location in Munich but ended up staying in Brighton. Series producer Kiaran Murray-Smith noted, 'It's amazing what VFX can do down the Brighton High Street.'

John Simm, who is from Brighton, expressed his enjoyment of filming in his hometown, calling it 'a character in its own right.' Campbell added that he is 'tempted' to move to Brighton, saying the cast has 'so much fun' filming across Sussex.

The sixth season premieres on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday, March 29 at 8pm. The first episode follows Grace's team as they investigate the disappearance of a Brighton property developer's wife, amid an anti-corruption inquiry.
