Strictly Come Dancing 2025 champions Karen Carney and Carlos Gu have shared a heartfelt message with fans following their emotional victory on Saturday night. The former England footballer and her professional partner lifted the Glitterball Trophy after a tense final, beating actress Amber Davies and social media star George Clarke.
The pair received a perfect score of 40 for their Peaky Blinders-inspired Argentine tango, which judge Shirley Ballas described as 'one of my favourite numbers that I’ve ever seen'. They also scored 37 for their showdance and another perfect 40 for their football-themed jive, which moved many to tears.
After the result was announced, Karen broke down in tears and admitted she was lost for words. The pair later took to Instagram with a video message, holding miniature Glitterball trophies. Carlos said: 'We did it! It's unbelievable,' while Karen added: 'Honestly, we can't believe it! We just wanted to say thank you so much for all your support, for all your votes, for all your kind words.'
Captioning the video, Karen wrote: 'Your support has meant the world, we can’t thank you all enough.' The post was flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and fellow celebrities.
