TV, radio and stage personality Debbie McGee has been confirmed to play Miss Lynch in Grease, which will be staged at Liverpool's Empire Theatre in 2027. The musical, described as one of the “world’s best-loved musicals,” will run from Monday, July 26, 2027, to Saturday, July 31, 2027.

Grease follows Danny and Sandy, who, after a whirlwind summer romance, are unexpectedly reunited when Sandy transfers to Rydell High for her senior year. The story explores whether their romance will survive the trials and tribulations of teenage life.
The production features a much-loved score with hits including Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin', Hopelessly Devoted to You, and You're the One That I Want. It brings the story to life with a new cast.
Creative team and other 2027 shows
The show is choreographed by legendary choreographer Arlene Phillips and directed by Curve's artistic director Nikolai Foster.
The Empire has already announced other shows for 2027, including Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS, which will visit in May 2027. That tour is directed and choreographed by Regent's Park Open Air Theatre artistic director Drew McOnie. Mrs. Doubtfire: The Musical will also come to the theatre in March 2027, featuring iconic moments from the beloved film alongside new songs and dance numbers.
