In Monday’s episode (June 15), Nick, devastated by Sam’s psychiatric crisis and hospitalisation, cannot handle the additional blow when Ben reveals he noticed Sam acting strangely. The bad blood between Kevin and Carl Webster (Michael Le Vell and Jonathan Howard) boils over when a gun enters the mix. On Tuesday (June 16), Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) desperately try to foster peace, but they cannot stop the weapon from firing. Carl insists that either they work things out or Kevin should pick up the gun he obtained from Fiona Morley (Sue Poyzer) and use it. Kevin, believing the gun is fake, aims it at Carl. As Ronnie attempts to wrestle it away, it fires, and a shot rings through the garage. Has the seemingly endless feud between the brothers claimed a life?
Maria's Suspicion
Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is absolutely determined that Gary Windass (Mikey North) is having an affair. On Friday (June 19), as Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) tries to discuss her new hairstyle, Maria’s mind is elsewhere. She wonders aloud about the truth behind Gary’s booking of a family holiday. Crippled with paranoia and doubt, Maria lays her cards on the table, believing his grand gesture is a cover for cheating. She launches into a tirade about Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) suspicious behaviour, making it clear she thinks they are having an affair. Is Maria onto something?
