Cardiff Castle reopens its gates this weekend as Texan band Bowling For Soup headliners alongside Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls for the Bowl My Bones UK tour, presented by TK Maxx as DEPOT Live in the castle. The American band follows Katy Perry's mega performance at the Welsh venue.
Frontmen Jaret Reddick (Bowling For Soup) and Frank Turner's unlikely friendship has grown into years of collaboration, camaraderie, and fan demand for a joint tour – now stopping at Cardiff. Known for hits like 1985 and Girl All the Bad Guys Want, Bowling For Soup bring humour and high-energy pop-punk, while Frank Turner arrives with an unmatched live reputation and his full band The Sleeping Souls.
Event Timings
Doors open for this gig at 5pm on Saturday, July 4. Stage times will be updated as they are confirmed. Support act American Hi-Fi, celebrating 25 years as a band, opens the proceedings with early-2000s hits like Flavor Of The Weak, The Art Of Losing, and The Geeks Get The Girls.
Road Information

Banned Items
Chairs, portable furniture, inflatables, or foldable furniture are not allowed. Food and drink are not permitted, but food and drink concessions are available within the event. Sealed bottles of soft drinks or water under 500ml are allowed, as are empty reusable water bottles of any size (metal, plastic, or other materials, but not glass). Free water refill stations are provided. Diet-specific food and drink require a doctor's note for medical conditions.
Assistant dogs are permitted; registered assistant dog owners should notify Depot via the accessible requirements form emailed by Ticketmaster after purchasing accessible tickets, or contact access@depotcardiff.com. Small bags and rucksacks are permitted, but bag searches will be in operation.
The full list of banned items includes: alcohol, signs, luggage, computers, laptops, iPads and tablets, large bags over A4 size, selfie sticks, professional cameras, cans, drugs, helmets, air horns, lasers, animals except guide dogs, glass bottles, spray cans, flags, umbrellas, chairs, flares or fireworks, toxic substances, weapons (including replicas), perfumes, explosives, signalling devices, smoking devices, and very-lights, medicines without a prescription or justification, skateboards and other personal motorised and non-motorised vehicles, knives, syringes, and scalpels.
