Zendaya has praised her husband Tom Holland for his dedication to the Spider-Man franchise, saying he cares deeply about the character and its impact on fans. The actress, who stars as MJ in the superhero films, spoke at the London premiere of the latest installment, Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Zendaya on Holland's Growth
Zendaya, 29, told the Press Association: 'I admire many things about him. Off camera, I would say watching him grow into such a leadership position on this film and really take control in such a beautiful, creative way.' She noted that Holland stepped into the writers' room for the first time to help shape the story.
Caring for Fans
The actress highlighted how Holland extends his care beyond the screen: 'I think he cares so much about Peter Parker and the character, and you can really see that. I love the way that he extends that outside of his everyday life because little kids don't know that he's not Spider-Man and I think he wears that with pride. It's nice to know that the person wearing the suit is a good person and cares.'
Physicality and Talents
Zendaya also praised Holland's acting abilities, saying: 'I think, as an actor, his ability to create such physicality with the character, I think people don't understand how difficult it is to have the physicality of Peter Parker inside Spider-Man while your face is covered. I just think he's so talented.'
Red Carpet Style
The Dune star arrived at the premiere in a shimmering ivory gown with glittery threads mimicking spider webs, continuing her 'method dressing' trend. A golden spider brooch adorned her dress, matching a similar piece on Holland's tie. The couple, who met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, married earlier this year. They also star together in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, released this month.
