Top Gun: Maverick is set to be removed from Channel 4's streaming service this weekend, giving viewers only a short window to watch the blockbuster sequel for free. The film, which originally premiered in cinemas before streaming on Paramount+ and Netflix, made its terrestrial television debut on Channel 4 last month.
The sequel, starring Tom Cruise as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, follows the character as he returns to Top Gun to train a new generation of pilots, including Goose's son Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw, played by Miles Teller. The mission involves destroying an unsanctioned nuclear plant, a task that proves perilous for all involved.
Val Kilmer reprises his role as Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky, with newcomers Jennifer Connelly as Penny, Glen Powell as Jake 'Hangman' Seresin, and Jon Hamm as Beau 'Cyclone' Simpson. The film was a major success, leading to confirmation earlier this year that a third movie is in development, with co-writer Ehren Kruger working on a script draft.
Powell has hinted at his return, stating: "There is stuff happening, and it sounds very exciting. I don't know when I'll be going back… I'm sure there is a jet waiting for me sometime in the future." Top Gun: Maverick is available on Channel 4's streaming service until Monday, April 23.
