My Life with the Walter Boys returns to Netflix this week, and the showrunner has teased that the season three premiere will be an "emotional" one. The teen coming-of-age drama left fans on a cliffhanger when Alex Walter (Ashby Gentry) overheard his girlfriend Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) confessing her love for his brother Cole (Noah LaLonde), only to be interrupted by news that their father George (Marc Blucas) had been rushed to hospital.
A Season About Growing Up
Showrunner and creator Melanie Halsall told Tudum that more than any other season, series three will be about "growing up, maturing and stepping up." Cole star Noah LaLonde explained that underneath all the drama between the brothers, they really care about each other, and the season "kind of cuts through a lot of the BS," especially when it comes to their feelings for Jackie.
Alex star Ashby Gentry added: "Everyone's reality has shattered a little bit, and they're picking up the pieces of that and trying to put it back together again."
What to Expect in Season 3
In the new season, everyone will be focusing on new interests in the wake of Jackie's confession. Alex will concentrate on his rodeo riding, Jackie will help develop Silver Falls' community space, and Cole will explore his newfound interest in race car driving. Jackie's life becomes more complicated when an old face from her past returns to remind her of her life in New York. The season begins on the same night of the season two finale.
New Cast Members
Three new faces join the main cast. Naveen Paddock (Mighty Ducks: Game Changers) plays Eliot, Uncle Richard's new intern, described as "handsome and charming" with an "air of New York sophistication." Chad Rook (It: Welcome to Derry) plays Mac, a "cool drag racer" impressed by Cole's natural abilities. Erin Karpluk (Being Erica) portrays Hannah, George's free-spirited sister and mother to Isaac and Lee, who returns after leaving her sons with her brother.
Release Date
My Life with the Walter Boys season three premieres on Thursday, August 6, on Netflix. Like the previous two series, it will consist of 10 episodes, with the full boxset dropping on the release date.
