Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson star in a farmyard mystery, while the spirited bonkbuster returns for a smutty second outing. The Sheep Detectives, out now, is a comedy-mystery about sheep adapted from a novel by Leonie Swann, written by Craig Mazin of Chernobyl and The Last of Us fame.
Kokuho, also out now, is a prestige period drama set across five decades in the kabuki theatre world. Directed by Lee Sang-il, it holds the record for the highest-grossing Japanese live-action release ever in Japan.
Mortal Kombat II picks up where the 2021 reboot left off, with Karl Urban joining returning cast members. Romería, directed by Carla Simón, follows an 18-year-old orphaned as a child who tracks down her extended family to help fill in university funding forms.
In music, Australian dance trio Rüfüs Du Sol play London and Dublin arena shows, while Walsall-raised Wesley Joseph performs in Manchester, London and Birmingham. The Choral Pilgrimage 2026, led by Harry Christophers and the Sixteen, tours from London from 12 May.
Andy Sheppard opens the Manchester jazz festival on 15 May.
