The official synopsis reveals the Hardacres are 'on the brink of transformation' as they enter 1895, with modern inventions like electricity impacting their lives. New cast members include Edward Mitchell as Arthur Lewis, who demonstrates a film projector, and Niall McNamee as Captain Blackwood, who catches the eye of Liza (Shannon Lavelle).
Mary (Claire Cooper) is seen proudly with a new bicycle, while Liza mends a broken heart after a chance encounter with a handsome stranger. The synopsis adds: 'Mary and Sam embrace wealth and opportunity, but their children begin forging identities that challenge expectations.'
Sam expands the family business amid a looming recession, uncertain if son Joe is ready to succeed him. Meanwhile, Michele Dotrice joins the cast as Lady Imelda Hansen, who arrives with a dangerous agenda that forces the Hardacres to unite or risk losing everything.
