Taylor Swift has announced she will release a brand-new original song for the upcoming Disney and Pixar film Toy Story 5. The track, titled 'I Knew It, I Knew You', was written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff.
The song will be released on 5 June, ahead of the film's premiere on 19 June. Pre-sales for the single have begun on Swift's website, offering three exclusive CD editions: the standard version, an acoustic version, and a piano version.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Swift expressed her excitement about contributing to the franchise she has loved since childhood. She described the song as being inspired by the character Jessie, the rootin' tootin' cowgirl, and marks a return to her country roots.
Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton praised Swift's involvement, stating that her connection to Jessie and understanding of the character was undeniable. The film sees Woody, Buzz, and the gang facing their biggest challenge yet: modern technology, as Bonnie becomes obsessed with a new tablet device.
