Taylor Sheridan’s 'Yellowstone' empire has struck again, with its latest spin-off 'Dutton Ranch' smashing streaming records to become Paramount+’s biggest original series launch to date. The debut two episodes, released on 15 May, amassed 12.9 million views within their first seven days on the platform, according to Paramount data.
The figure easily eclipses the previous record holder, the 2025 premiere of 'MobLand', which drew 8.8 million views. On Paramount Network, the show also notched 2.9 million live-plus-same-day viewers on premiere night, making it the biggest new cable series premiere since 2023.
'Dutton Ranch' centres on Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s volatile couple Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they relocate to South Texas. It is the fourth instalment in Sheridan’s 'Yellowstone' universe, following the original series, which concluded in December 2024, and prequels '1883' and '1923'. The series holds an 88 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The show was created by Chad Feehman, who was quietly let go after reports of clashes with Reilly and Hauser on set. Reilly addressed the controversy briefly, saying: “We all just made a really difficult season of TV, birthing something together, and we’re so grateful for Chad.” Sheridan has since handed creative control to the stars.
Annette Bening and Ed Harris also feature in the series, which streams new episodes on Wednesdays on Paramount+.
