The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been released, showing Peter Parker grappling with a lonely new life after a spell made the world forget his identity. The footage, unveiled by Sony Pictures Releasing UK, features Tom Holland reprising his role as the web-slinger, facing threats including The Punisher and Scorpion.
The trailer opens with Parker watching a video of his ex-girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and friend Ned (Jacob Batalon), who no longer remember him. A voiceover explains: “Hi, my name is Peter Parker. You don’t remember me, but we used to know each other. Something bad was going to happen and the only way to stop it was to make everyone forget about me.”
Action scenes show Spider-Man clashing with The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), who hits him with a van, leading to a violent crash. Later, Parker is seen at a party watching MJ flirt with another man, and he visits the grave of his aunt May. He also seeks help from Dr Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), and encounters Scorpion (Michael Mando), who warns him to stay out of his way.
A mysterious voice refers to spiders having three life cycles, and a fleeting glimpse of a concealed character sparks speculation it could be Sadie Sink. The trailer culminates with Spider-Man fighting the ninja clan The Hand, and ends with Parker bringing flowers to MJ’s party, claiming to be “just a neighbour”. MJ responds by calling him a “friendly neighbour”.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release in cinemas on 31 July 2026.
