Sir Sam Mendes, the Academy Award-winning director, has become the newest patron of the Purbeck Film Festival in Dorset. The festival, which runs from October 17 to November 2 across more than 30 venues, will feature stars of stage and screen alongside special guests.
Mendes expressed his delight at the invitation, marking a significant honour for the event. The two-week programme includes appearances by members of the Fox acting family, who will share stories and discuss performances.
Other highlights include a question and answer session with director Dan Pringle and French actor Laurent Lucas after a screening of 'Die Before You Die' at Durlston Castle. Director Margy Kinmonth will also be a special guest for her film 'War Paint: Women At War'.
Andrea Etherington, chair of the festival, said: 'Welcoming Sir Sam Mendes as patron is a great honour. His support feels especially meaningful as the festival continues to thrive.'
