The Rolling Stones have appeared to reveal the title of their forthcoming album through a new international billboard campaign. The band's official Instagram account shared images of billboards in cities including Sydney and Paris, each featuring the Rolling Stones logo and the same phrase repeated in multiple languages, suggesting the record will be called Foreign Tongues.
The campaign follows guitarist Ronnie Wood's announcement last September that new music was on the way, telling fans to expect “a new album” in 2026. An earlier teaser campaign by the band's alter egos, The Cockroaches, also hinted at the release. The new album will be the first since Hackney Diamonds, which came out in 2023 and was widely praised as the band's best work in decades.
Last summer, the Stones were reported to be working on new music at Metropolis Studios in West London. Hackney Diamonds was produced by Andrew Watt and reached number one on the charts. The band's classic line-up continues to perform, with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood still at the helm.
Earlier this week, Wood announced a rare solo show in London on 21 August at the O2 Kentish Town Forum, his first full solo set in over 16 years. He will be joined by singer-songwriter Imelda May. Extra dates have been added due to high demand, including a performance at Cologne's E-Werk on 3 September. Wood said: “I’m looking forward to kickin’ ass with my back catalog and some new songs – look out London!!”
Wood, a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee (with the Stones in 1989 and with Faces in 2012), previously reunited with Rod Stewart on stage at Glastonbury last year. The new album Foreign Tongues is eagerly anticipated by fans worldwide.
