Rolling Stones New Album 'Foreign Tongues' Features McCartney, Smith

The Rolling Stones have officially confirmed the release of a new studio album, Foreign Tongues, set to arrive this summer. The record marks a reunion with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, who previously collaborated with the legendary rock band on their acclaimed 2023 album Hackney Diamonds.

Release Details and Lead Single

Foreign Tongues will be released on July 10, preceded by the new single “In The Stars,” which is available now. The album was recorded at Metropolis Studios in West London, where the core lineup of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood was joined by regular collaborators Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford, and Steve Jordan.

Guest Appearances

The album also features the late drummer Charlie Watts, from a recording session before his death in 2021. Additional guest appearances include Steve Winwood, Paul McCartney, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Band Statements

Mick Jagger said in a statement: “I love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis. It was a very intense few weeks recording Foreign Tongues. We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as it’s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.”

Keith Richards added: “The Foreign Tongues album has a continuity from Hackney Diamonds and it was great to be working in London again, and to have that London vibe around us. It was a month of concentrated punch. To me, it's all about the enjoyment of it. I'm blessed to be able to do this and long may it last.”

Ronnie Wood said: “The atmosphere in the room was so creative, and the whole band was on top form throughout the whole process. Very often we nailed it on the first take. I hope everyone loves it.”

Teaser Campaign

The album’s release was hinted at in recent weeks by an international billboard campaign. Wood revealed new music was on the way in September last year, telling fans they would be “getting a new album” in 2026. That was followed by an enigmatic campaign by the band’s alter egos, The Cockroaches, which included the single “Rough and Twisted.” The official Rolling Stones Instagram account then shared images of billboards around the world, including in Sydney, Australia, and Paris, France, featuring the band’s logo and the phrase “Foreign Tongues” in various languages.
