Netflix viewers have been urged to watch a mystery drama that has been described as "everything you are looking for" in a TV show. The series, Resident Alien, is a science-fiction comedy-drama based on the comic book by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. It originally aired on Syfy between 2021 and 2025, but all four seasons are now available to stream on Netflix in the UK.

Plot and cast
The series follows Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk), an alien sent to Earth to wipe out humanity. After crash-landing in a small town in Colorado, he kills a vacationing physician and assumes his identity. While posing as the doctor, Harry is asked to perform an autopsy on the town's doctor, who died under mysterious circumstances. He then grapples with the moral dilemma of his mission while developing a fondness for the humans around him. As he uncovers secrets about the doctor's death, he also faces other extraterrestrial threats.
Alongside Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko plays doctor's assistant Asta Twelvetrees, Corey Reynolds stars as Sheriff Mike Thompson, and Alice Wetterlund plays D'arcy Bloom, a bartender and mountaineering expert.

Reddit users praised Tudyk's performance, with some saying it made them want to watch more of his work. One person wrote: "Really enjoyed season one.
