Rain Wreaks Havoc at Carla Zampatti's Australian Fashion Week Show
Rain Ruins Carla Zampatti's Fashion Week Show

Some of the nation's most glamorous influencers were sent into meltdown on Monday night after a bout of torrential rain crashed Carla Zampatti’s outdoor Australian Fashion Week runway show. Despite a wet weather forecast, guests arrived at the event primped and preened to perfection, risking their blow-dries for a chance to attend the ultra-exclusive catwalk.

Unfortunately, things went pear-shaped shortly after the show commenced, with a sudden downpour leaving models and guests scrambling to shield themselves with whatever objects they could find. 'Celebrities in the front row were absolutely panicking. The second the drizzle started, it became a full-blown frenzy,' one insider told Daily Mail Australia. 'Some people laughed and they were using a Carla Zampatti flyer to protect them, umbrellas were flying up, and everyone was desperately trying to shield their outfits.'

Among those caught in the deluge was Tammy Hembrow, whose toyboy boyfriend Grayson Te Moana was seen attempting to shield her hair from the water with his jacket. According to one source who was in attendance, Grayson's attempt at chivalry backfired as his jacket ended up making things worse. Tammy also enlisted other guests to help fix her hair extensions, which had become visibly bedraggled.

Showpo founder Jane Lu was seen sitting front row with a leather jacket draped over her freshly-styled hairdo. Elsewhere, Married At First Sight star Carina Mirabile was spotted further back in the crowd, squinting as she attempted to watch the show through the downpour.

Influencer Jadé Brycki, who had spent hours getting ready for the high-profile event, shared a video of herself reacting to the weather, telling her fans: 'Everyone's freaking out! It's a fashion catastrophe!' she despaired. Fellow influencer Sopha Dopha, also known as Sophia Begg, turned heads with her dramatic antics during the torrent, frantically trying to cover her hair, outfit, and makeup. She was left scowling for the rest of the show.

Bachelor couple Tim and Anna Robards were also spotted in the front row looking less than pleased. While Anna was spotted using a programme as an umbrella, Tim simply accepted his circumstances and sat there in the rain.

But while chaos erupted in the audience, models on the runway maintained their composure despite the difficult environment. Among those strutting their stuff were Australian models Montana Cox and Shanina Shaik.
