Prime Video has officially confirmed the release date for its highly anticipated coming-of-age drama, Sterling Point, along with new first-look images. The series, created by Megan Park, known for her acclaimed 2024 film My Old Ass starring Aubrey Plaza, consists of eight episodes.

Plot and Cast

The story centers on 17-year-old Annie Jacobson, played by Ella Rubin, who is raised in New York City with her twin brother (Keen Ruffalo) and loving adoptive father (Jay Duplass). Annie's life takes an unexpected turn when she inherits her mysterious grandfather's island in Canada. There, she discovers new friends, budding romance, and untold family secrets.

Rubin, recognized for her roles in Anora and The Girl from Plainville, leads a stellar cast that includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead), Missi Pyle (Harlan Coben's Shelter), Amélie Elisabeth Hoeferle, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Bo Bragason, Nikko Angelo Hinayo, Mabel Strachan, and Elle-Maija Talifeathers.

Release Details

All eight episodes of Sterling Point will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on Wednesday, 5th August. The streaming service has also released two new stills showing Rubin in character as Annie, alongside Hoeferle as her friend Ramona and Duplass as her adoptive father Steven.

Anticipation and Hype

Given the acclaim for Park's previous project My Old Ass, which has been described by IMDb users as "beautiful" and tear-jerking, Sterling Point is expected to become a major hit. One reviewer called the film "the best Romantic Dramedy I have ever seen."
