Paige Spiranac became one of the most memorable sights of the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere after arriving on the red carpet in a figure-hugging see-through dress. The golf influencer, who counts 4 million followers on Instagram, had a small cameo in the film.
The premiere took place in New York in July 2025. It followed months of rumours that Adam Sandler had written a sequel to the 1996 cult hit comedy Happy Gilmore, about a hot-tempered ice hockey player turned golfer with extraordinary power and a temper to match.
A cameo sparked by a viral post
Before filming, Spiranac threw her hat in the ring for a role by recreating the film's iconic "Happy Place" scene. She posed in lacy white lingerie holding two beer pitchers, echoing the look worn by Julie Bowen as Happy's love interest, Virginia Venit.
Spiranac said the recreation gained a lot of attention and led to her casting. In the finished film she appears as a worker at a virtual golf course where Happy tries to find his touch again.
Red carpet moment
"It was one of the coolest experiences of my life," Spiranac said, speaking after the premiere alongside stars including Scottie Scheffler, who appears in the film with Rory McIlroy, John Daly, Brooks Koepka, Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny, Becky Lynch, Post Malone and Eminem.
She praised Sandler, saying: "I got to shoot my scene with Adam Sandler and he is one of the most genuine, funny, kind, humble human beings. You forget that he is Adam Sandler. He just is so amazing... I can't say enough good things about him."
Spiranac also described seeing the scale of the production. "And then the amount of people it takes to make this happen, it was really cool to see the behind the scenes and to see the final product."
"We were on set for hours and my scene - if you blink you'll miss it - so the amount of time and effort and care that goes into creating these movies that we all love, it was really, really cool to see."
How the cameo came together
"There was a fake casting that came out a while ago, and I kind of threw my name into the ring. I said, 'Hey, I'm ready for (the role).' I put up a picture of me which was like recreating the 'Happy Place' with the iconic image of her (Virginia Venit) in the white with the beer, and it gained a lot of attraction," she recalled.
"I think that's kind of how it all came together, but it was such a cool experience."
