The Mummy 4 to resurrect dead character from original 1999 movie
Mummy 4 resurrects dead character from original 1999 film

Almost two decades after the last installment, the original cast of 1999's The Mummy is reuniting for a fourth film. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz will reprise their roles as Rick and Evelyn O'Connell, with Weisz returning after being recast in 2008's Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Rumors suggest The Mummy 4 is a direct sequel to The Mummy Returns, potentially retconning the threequel.

Original Stars Return

Joining John Hannah as Evelyn's brother Jonathan, two more cast members from the 1999 action-adventure have been announced. Oded Fehr will reprise his role as Ardeth Bay, leader of the Medjai warriors, and Kevin J O'Connor returns as Beni Gabor, Rick's former comrade from the French Foreign Legion who served the resurrected Mummy Imhotep.

Beni's Fate

At the end of 1999's The Mummy, Beni was weighed down by looted gold and didn't escape the tomb as scarab beetles descended. Now his conman character is back, sparking questions about how he survived or if he'll be resurrected as a mummy himself.
