M&S Ribeye Steak Taste Test: Cheaper £8.50 Steak Beats £19 Wagyu
M&S Ribeye Test: £8.50 Steak Beats £19 Wagyu

Marks and Spencer's cheapest and most expensive ribeye steaks have been put to the test, and the results surprised the taste tester. Food content creator Becca Stock, known on TikTok as Becca Eats Everything, compared the M&S 30 Day Matured Ribeye Steak at £8.50 with the M&S Collection Wagyu Ribeye Steak at £19.

Cheaper Steak Scores Perfect 10

Becca began by cooking the £8.50 ribeye with a little oil, salt, and pepper, her standard method. After taking a bite, she exclaimed: "Oh, my goodness, that is a f***ing good steak. It's like beef butter. Best rib eye I've tried from a supermarket. The bar is set. I mean, surely like, this is a 10 out of 10 steak. Why would I pay more than double the price for another one?"

Wagyu Ribeye Disappoints

Next, she tried the Collection British Wagyu Ribeye Steak, noting it fell apart more easily. However, after tasting, she said: "Do you know what? I'm not actually that impressed. This is why we do this. The texture is lovely, it's, like, so soft. It's actually a little bit tasteless. It doesn't have as much of a butteriness to it." She scored the wagyu a 6.5 out of 10.
