Brazilian influencer Kauana Bilhar, 27, has died after falling from the 27th floor of a tower block in Dubai, just days after announcing her engagement. The model, who had over 20,000 Instagram followers, was known for her modelling pictures and travel posts.
Mother announces death
Her mother, Darla Bilhar, announced the death on 7 July, according to NeedToKnow. Darla expressed her heartbreak, stating: "There are no words capable of expressing the magnitude of the longing you left behind." She added: "Today you are no longer by my side as I dreamed, but you will live forever within me. I love you infinitely, my girl. Until the day we can meet again."
Police investigation underway
According to the Daily Star, the cause of death remains unknown as a police investigation takes place. Officers are reportedly considering all possibilities, including accident, suicide, homicide, or femicide. Darla has travelled to Dubai to monitor the investigation and bring her daughter's remains back to Brazil.
Final social media post
Kauana's final social media update was on 25 June, celebrating her engagement to partner Barbara Abrantes. The precise date of her death is unknown.
Mother calls for respect
Devastated, Darla called for respect after her daughter's social media was flooded with malicious comments. She said: "My daughter deserves respect. She can no longer respond to the accusations, the malicious comments, the stories that are being created about her. It is with my soul in pieces that I come to speak out. My daughter deserves respect."
