Personal items from the estate of late 'Friends' star Matthew Perry are set to be auctioned next month, with proceeds benefiting his non-profit foundation aimed at reducing addiction stigma. The auction, organised by Heritage Auctions, will take place online and in person in Dallas on June 5.
Among the highlights are 26 scripts from iconic episodes such as 'The One With Ross's Tan' and the series finale 'The Last One'. Two additional scripts signed by Perry and his co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer, donated by Warner Bros., are also included. Other items feature a photo album titled 'The One With the Last Supper' with a letter from 'Jenny', and Perry's replica of the yellow peephole frame from Monica's apartment.
Perry's 1995 SAG Award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series and a personal art collection featuring works by Banksy and Mel Bochner will also be sold. Proxy bidding opened on Tuesday, with items available for preview at Heritage Auctions' Beverly Hills showroom from May 18 to 29.
Net proceeds will support the Matthew Perry Foundation's mission to 'build a future free from addiction stigma', as well as the Matthew Perry Foundation Fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Healing Appalachia, and grassroots recovery grants. Perry died on October 28, 2023, from the effects of ketamine use.
