After winning a US libel case against Heard, fan demand for Depp's return has grown. During the trial, Depp stated he would not work with Disney again for 'hundreds of millions of dollars', but recent rumours suggest the studio is now eager to bring him back, potentially in a supporting role.
An industry insider told Express.co.uk: 'The future is as deep and dark as Jack Sparrow's mysterious, murky waters... I'm sure Jack Sparrow longs for his desert islands. The character longs to continue his journeys, but the incredibly talented actor has many scripts to navigate.' The source warned that Disney must heed fan desires after recent missteps with Marvel and Star Wars.
