Jeon Seung-jae, the South Korean actor known for his role in Netflix's The Good, the Bad, the Weird, has died at the age of 46. His death was confirmed on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, after the setup of his funeral altar was announced at Special Room 3 of Shillakwon Gyeonggi Funeral Home in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
The actor's health declined suddenly in 2024 when he collapsed on the set of the TV drama Koryeo-Goran War. He suffered a brain haemorrhage, underwent emergency surgery, and was placed in a coma but never regained consciousness. The news of his critical condition was withheld for three months, prompting an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues.

During his hospitalization, co-stars Park Ji Yeon and Seong Do Hyun shared a donation link and urged fans: "Please send your prayers for him to give him strength. Small acts of sincerity are most needed right now. Please join hands to help him." Following his death, tributes flooded social media. One fan wrote: "Too sad. Family and Career
Jeon's older sister, Jeon Seong-young, told StarNews at the time of his hospitalization: "My younger brother had no major abnormalities during his health checkup just last December and had no problems with his physical condition in general. It was so sudden." Jeon began his acting career in 2004 with the film Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War. He built a notable filmography including Bokmyeon Dalho, The Good, the Bad, the Weird, Haeundae, Hello Ghost, The Age of Shadows, and Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days. He also appeared in TV dramas such as Splendid Politics and High Kick Through the Roof.
His most famous role was in the Netflix hit The Good, the Bad and the Weird, which follows outlaws and a bounty hunter pursued by the Japanese army and Chinese bandits while searching for a treasure map.
