Fans of critically-acclaimed drama Nowhere Special starring James Norton have limited time to stream it on BBC iPlayer. The film, which holds a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, will be removed from the platform on 1 June.
In the emotional film, Norton plays John, a 35-year-old single father diagnosed with terminal cancer. He spends his remaining months searching for the right adoptive family for his four-year-old son Michael, played by Daniel Lamont.
Written, produced, and directed by Uberto Pasolini, Nowhere Special premiered at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in September 2020 and received widespread critical praise. Critics have described it as 'heartbreaking' yet authentic, with Norton's performance praised as exceptional.
Pasolini shared insight into John's role, saying: 'When I was attempting to imagine what I would have done in his place, emotionally protecting my child to minimise the trauma was the one thing I could think of.' He added that John gradually learns to gently share the truth with his son.
Nowhere Special is available to watch on BBC iPlayer until 1 June.
